It is easy to create your own fund:
- Minimum contribution:
You can contribute cash, securities, or other property valued at $25,000 or more. - Select a name for your fund:
You might want to use your organization's name (ABC Agency Endowment Fund), the name of a major benefactor (Smith Memorial Endowment) or one you invent. - Designate current fund advisors:
Such as your board's chair, treasurer and secretary. - Complete and sign a simple establishing document:

You can select from a variety of equity, fixed income, and money market portfolios.
Once your fund is established, you may:
- Add to the fund:
Contributions can be made any time in any dollar amount of $5,000 or more. - Recommend distributions:
Distributions from the fund can be recommended any time, and for any amount above $250.* - Change your investment strategy:
Recommending an appropriate investment allocation among several investment options with the opportunity to change the allocation semi-annually.
* NPT will charge a one-time fee of 2% of the maximum balance for those funds that grant out more than 95% of the value of their account within 12 months of establishing their account and, as a result, their balance falls below the $25,000 minimum. For those accounts established 13 months or longer, this early withdrawal fee does not apply.
What if my organization needs the funds held by NPT?
You may simply recommend a grant for the balance of the account to your organization. What are NPT fees?
For all services, advice, and management, NPT charges a nominal administration fee based on the investment strategy and asset size of the fund.

Investment management fees are passed through to each fund at our cost, which generally ranges between 0.80% - 0.95% annually. Every effort is made to keep both our costs and fees to a minimum while offering a unique philanthropic service to our clients.
